Lets know more about her…..

What is music to you? Exactly, when did you decide to plunge in the world of music?

Music is like oxygen to me. I cannot imagine my life without it. I am singing from the age of 5, even before I realized what music is for me.

Do you feel that good looking, well groomed singers have a better shot at fame than the other way round?

I believe that as far as shows are concerned , you need a good personality, but playback singing is different all together. It all depends on your voice quality and how your voice suits that particular composition.

Like most industries, Piracy is killing the music industry as well. So, could you give your listeners 2 reasons to buy your original music?

I would ask every one to buy the album rather then downloading on the internet which is affecting talented artists to really take up music as a profession.

In turn it is affecting the music company as well

What was your first reaction when you heard that you have been chosen for the Youth Achiever’s award?

I have been really working very hard throughout my life, so it never surprised me as I have been getting lot of appreciation at a very young age for my work.

If you get a chance to change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

I would like to see more and more talented music producers to be on the top, because only when there are good music producers that a singer can perform his best.

What is the basic difference between Carnatic music and Hindustani music?

The style, structure and language of Carnatic music is very different compared to that of hindustani. Carnatic was originated in southern part of India, where Dravidians lived.

Any memorable incident while singing which you would like to share?

Too many to share.. but while performing once in a show, I forgot the lyrics and had to manipulate, and sang some words on the spot, which made me really embarrassed after the show.

You are the general secretary of the united youth of India. What is this all about?

Celine Dion once said that singers aren’t made through reality shows. Any comments?

I agree, I personally never participate in any reality shows, but still I am happy with what offers I get, as at the end of the day you have to be a good musician. Fame and success will follow automatically.

What is the best and worst part of being a singer?

Everything is good about music, I don't think I ever saw any bad sides in being a singer.

If your life is to be converted into a song, which song would it be?

Naam gum jayega , chehera ye badal jayega , meri aawaz he pechan hai, gar yaad rahe...(Names will disappear, faces will vanish, my voice is my identity if you remember)

3 things which the world does know about Deepika, the person (not the singer)?

I am a philosopher, a very hyper active person always ready to learn, and I love spending time on internet doing networking.

What advice would you give to aspiring singers?

Keep learning music, and never neglect your education, never aim to be famous over night. There is no short cut to fame.

Your message to your fans, listeners and music buffs?

Keep listening to music, it really helps you to attain peace and salvation in life. Also, keep aiming high and work towards your goals. Good luck and God bless you all.
